Fourth-year veterinary students from the Akkhraratchakumari Veterinary College at Walailak University recently participated in a specialized hands-on workshop titled ‘Hoof Trimming in Cattle’ as part of the Large Animal Surgery course. This intensive training focused on essential bovine podiatry skills to ensure the prevention of lameness and the promotion of overall herd health. Under the dedicated supervision of faculty members, the session featured guest lecturer Assistant Professor Dr. Jaturong Wongsanit, who shared professional techniques and clinical insights into safe and effective hoof management. Through this experiential learning, students enhanced their understanding of bovine anatomy, mastered the use of specialized surgical tools, and gained proficiency in post-procedural care to prepare for their future roles as professional veterinarians.
