Walailak University Researchers (led by Assoc Prof Dr Tuempong Wongtawan DVM, MS, MVM, phD ) Reveal the Potential of CBD Oil in Calming Pet Aggression

Pet aggression directed toward owners is a widespread issue that can severely damage the bond between pets and their human companions. In fact, statistics show that over 40% of pet owners in Thailand have experienced bites or scratches from their own dogs or cats. Experts point out that in most cases, this aggression is not merely bad behavior, but an underlying indicator of chronic stress, fear, or anxiety that alters mental stability over time.

Addressing this crucial challenge, veterinary researchers at Walailak University (WU) have conducted pioneering research focusing on animal mental well-being, investigating the therapeutic efficacy of hemp-derived CBD oil in managing aggressive behaviors in cats towards their owners.

Key Findings of the Study:

  • Significant Reduction in Aggression: Hemp-derived CBD oil was shown to significantly reduce aggressive behaviors in cats.
  • Effective with Fewer Side Effects: The therapeutic efficacy of CBD is comparable to conventional pharmacological treatments, but comes with considerably fewer side effects
  • Holistic Health Benefits: Pets treated with CBD oil also demonstrated positive health markers, including an improved appetite and a noticeably healthier, shinier coat.
  •
  • This breakthrough study opens promising new avenues for veterinarians and pet owners seeking natural, safe, and effective methods to enhance pet welfare and restore harmony in the home.
