VETERINARY STUDENTS GAIN HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN ANIMAL RESTRAINT TECHNIQUES
Second-year students from Akkhararatchakumari Veterinary College recently took part in a practical training session under the Basic Practical Skill 1 course, learning how to properly and safely restrain animals across 7 different categories: companion animals, wildlife, aquatic animals, poultry, horses, large ruminants, and pigs.
With guidance from experienced faculty members specializing in each animal group, students had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with various tools and equipment used for animal restraint. The instructors provided close supervision and live demonstrations to ensure that students not only understood the theory but also developed essential handling skills through practice.
This foundational course equips students with critical practical knowledge needed for safe, effective animal care and sets the stage for more advanced clinical training in the years ahead.
