From 7–11 April 2025, Akkhararatchakumari Veterinary College joined hands with the World Veterinary Service Foundation and the Khuan Phang Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) in Ron Phibun District to carry out a community outreach program focused on spaying/neutering and rabies vaccination for dogs and cats. The initiative aligns with the university’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The program, held at the Khuan Phang SAO office, resulted in the sterilization of 128 animals: 57 female cats, 32 male cats, 30 female dogs, and 9 male dogs. A total of 156 animals—105 cats and 51 dogs—also received rabies vaccinations to help reduce disease risk and manage the local animal population.

The project was supported by funding from the college, the World Veterinary Service, and the local SAO. The field team included 7 faculty members, 23 veterinary students, and 7 veterinarians and staff from the foundation.

Beyond improving public health, the program highlighted the power of collaboration among government, academic, and civil society sectors in promoting sustainable and safe communities at the grassroots level.
