During the semester break (April 9-26 and September 2021), led by a team led by Ajarn Veterinary Professor Naphasorn Pangprasit, a professor at Akkhararajakumari College of Veterinary Medicine, organized a project to bring students to a horse farm in Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province for the 4th year students to practice in the operation including field harnessing and for students to familiarize themselves with horses during the semester break.

On March 11-18, 2023, Akkhararajakumari Veterinary College led students to visit and practice in the veterinary profession at Azabu University, Japan. In this work, students learned and understood the roles and responsibilities of veterinary professional organizations, including the practice of veterinarians in treating pets and managing the farm. In the laboratory of diagnosis in foreign countries and to gain experience, and skills for living with others and living abroad, preparing students for practicing the veterinary profession abroad. The college schedule is as follows:

March 11, 2023, travel from Nakhon Si Thammarat to Suvarnabhumi Airport.
March 12, 2023, travel from Suvarnabhumi to Narita Airport and stay at a hotel near Azabu University.
March 13, 2023, visit Animal Farms&watch Video.
March 14, 2023, visiting the Animal hospital of Azabu University
March 15, 2023, Free day
March 16, 2023, Veterinary students at Walailak University conduct a discussion and present the project.
March 17, 2023, back to Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Remote anesthesia training in wild animals (WILDLIFE CHEMICAL IMMOBILIZATION)

the elephant and wildlife team of the college cooperated with Panalai Animal Hospital, Finch Inject Ltd., Part., Southern Thailand Elephant Foundation, and Sri Ayutthaya Lion Park Zoo organized an event called “Wildlife Chemical Immobilization Training Project” to gather, change, and expand knowledge to lead to the practice of elephant and wildlife academic service, including cooperation in research related to elephants and wildlife for interested veterinarians. This project is beneficial to developing cooperation between academic service agencies for the health care and conservation of elephants and wildlife in Thailand.

3rd year veterinary students participated in the gown ceremony

Akkhararatchakumari Veterinary College, hold a gown-giving ceremony which is a sacred ceremony. It’s the starting point for the clinical level of 3rd year veterinary students as if the life of a veterinary student has completed half of the path to the profession in order to create good morale to focus on studying with pride wearing a gown represents the profession of a veterinarian. When wearing a gown should always be kept in mind that we are currently one of the members of the veterinary profession to behave appropriately by realizing the value of being human, work with gentleness and full of mercy, take pride in and take responsibility for the duties you have received and should constantly study for additional knowledge in order to develop oneself as well as being responsible with morality and ethics as a professional practitioner in order to become a good veterinarian in the future. Veterinary student along with parents congratulations to the 3rd generation veterinary students in unison at the Si Thammarat Conference Room at the Architecture and Design Laboratory Building, Walailak University.

3rd-year veterinary student, Akkhararajakumari Veterinary College Walailak University, studying practice in orthopedic surgery, subject VET61-353, Small Animal Surgery and Orthopedics, with the honor of being a special guest lecturer, Mr. Veterinarian Thirawat Sumalai (Doctor Tu of Samut Songkhram Animal Hospital), a specialist in animal orthopedic surgery. In this activity, students gained much knowledge about orthopedic surgery and practiced under the supervision of Ajarn Rachadaporn Boriphan. It is highly appreciated for educating students and caring for them throughout the training.

The ambience of the OPEN HOUSE 2023 activity towards the path of veterinary Walailak University is an activity at Veterinary Akkhararajakumari College, Walailak University, arranged for Mathayomsuksa 6’s students who passed the first round of TCAS selection for the academic year 2023 and who are interested in studying the veterinary course to visit and get to know the university, college, personnel and seniors in the veterinary program. As well as building relationships and making impressions on new students through a variety of activities, both academic and recreational, where the children have done various activities. Whether practising using a microscope, visiting the operating room of a small animal hospital, a clinic for horses, chickens, and small animals, and long-range anaesthesia training and many other activities. Our activities allow children to prepare themselves for entering higher education and get information about the teaching-learning system and support at Walailak University.

Akkharajakumari College of Veterinary Medicine was honored by Dr. Conny Turni from The University of Queensland, Australia, to be a Visiting Professor in the Reinventing University project and to lecture on the topic Future trends in research in gut microbiome and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). There are also lecturers participating in the lecture, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thotsapon Thamrongsuwankit and Asst. Prof. Dr. Watcharapong Mitsuwan from Akkhararajakumari Veterinary College and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chonthicha Romyasamit from the School of Allied Health Sciences, Walailak University. Also, veterinarians and scientists in on-site and online formats attended the event.
